Terry Large Falconry Displays

Alongisde all the above attractions the BASC provide exceptional Falconry demonstrations, this year brought to you by Terry Large, who has a wealth of knowledge and involvement in field sports to pass on to you budding falconers. He has since become a leading figure in the falconry world, and is Chairman of the Campaign for Falconry. Terry will be displaying various aspects of training birds in a fascinating free flying demonstration with a commentary to explain the techniques used.
As well as giving talks and demonstrations, Terry’s passion is running the Falconry Classrooms to introduce a new generation to the noble sport of Falconry, something to definitely getting involved in over the two day fair.

BASC clay shooting school

An exciting event that you will only find at the Gamekeepers Fair is the BASC Clay Shooting School. For only £15 for and adult and £10 for under 18’s you can experience firsthand the art of the correct stance, safe gun handling, gun mount and how to hit a moving target. The BASC Shotgun coaching School is designed to offer an opportunity for those who already shoot or those who feel they would like to try, by taking advantage of some expert tuition. All the coaches are also happy and on hand to provide any gun fit or gun advice for those of you are a more experienced shot.
 
 

The BASC gundog programme

The Fair provides activity for all, also ensuring the most important member s of the family, the dogs, are not forgotten. There are a variety of competitions that your gundog can be involved in ranging from double retrieve and distraction and Obstacle Course to Lord Lichfield Memorial Challenge and Multiple Pick up, not forgetting the BASC & Chudleys Scurry League. The BASC programme offered at the Gamekeepers Fair provides a wealth of opportunity and advice for those who currently own, work or compete with a gundog or are looking to purchase a dog in the future.

 

The Kids Zone

For those younger members of the family, there are many child attractions to ensure they are always occupied and having fun too! There is a fantastic opportunity to try out quad biking in a safe, inflatable circuit, an interactive baking session, face painting and not to forget dream ponies, providing the youngsters to meet, pet and ride the ponies.
